Carhartt Bison Brown Moc Wedge Waterproof Steel Toe Work Boot

The Carhartt Bison is a work boot featuring a stylish moc toe and wedge sole, as well as exceptional workplace-ready aspects in the way of protection, comfort, and durability you’ll be thankful to have on the job.

What Is a Wedge Sole Boot?

A wedge sole like the one on this work boot lacks a heel and is for the most part flat. Because of this flat sole, it is highly favored by those in the manufacturing industry as it reduces strain on the lower back and knees that often results from standing on hard, concrete factory floors for extended periods of time. Wedge sole work boots are also a great choice for ironworkers, carpenters, and construction workers since having no heel virtually eliminates the risk of catching the edge of a beam or scaffolding, helping to promote better stability and safer maneuvering. On top of that, the wedge sole on this work boot has a dual density construction, meaning that it won’t wear down as quickly as other boots of its kind.

Durability

With an upper made of brown oil-tanned leather, this work boot boasts greater flexibility and comfort than standard leather boots, yet is just as durable. Oil-tanning is a process by which the material is tanned with natural oils, giving it increased softness and pliability as well as simpler maintenance. This translates to reduced break-in time since the leather has a little more give, as well as a boot that’s easier to keep clean and in better condition for much longer. Supplementing this durable material is Goodyear welt construction. Thanks to the outsole being sewn to the upper rather than glued, it is much less likely to separate from the upper during hard use. The work boot can also be resoled multiple times, effectively extending its life well past boots that feature direct attach construction.

Protection

This Carhartt work boot features a couple important aspects to keep you protected on the job. Such as a steel safety toe that meets ASTM standards for impact and compression to aid in preventing injury to your feet against falling or rolling objects. Should you need to work around live wires or other such threats, the Bison has you covered with electrical hazard secondary protection against incidental contact with an electrical circuit of up to 18,000 volts.

Comfort

In the way of comfort, this work boot has it all. Polyurethane strobel pads with cushioned insoles provide comfortable support and reduced foot fatigue, something you’ll definitely appreciate at the end of the day or working overtime. If the weather turns rainy while your outside, Carhartt’s proprietary Storm Defender waterproof breathable membrane technology locks water out while allowing moisture to escape, keeping your feet dry and reducing the occurrence of painful blisters. This is supplemented by a FastDry moisture wicking lining, which also fights odors for consistent freshness after extended wear.
