Thorogood 1957 Series 8-inch Briar Pitstop Waterproof Steel Moc Toe Wedge Sole U.S. Made Men’s Work Boot – 804-3800

The Thorogood 1957 is an 8-inch steel toe work boot proudly made in the USA with classic style that hearkens back to the industrious spirit of mid-century, working class America. The Briar Pitstop full-grain leather upper will form a protective patina over time, which means these work boots will age beautifully while also lasting longer since the leather is left in its original state thus retaining its naturally resilient properties. This durability is further supplemented by Goodyear Storm Welt construction which means that the outsole is sewn to the upper rather than glued, allowing for multiple re-soling over the years. Thorogood then takes these vintage work boots into the future with a polyurethane MAXWear wedge outsole that lasts up to 20-30 percent longer and is less prone to cracking than the rubber used on other work boots. The slip-resistant wedge outsole used on this steel toe work boot features no heel and is flat with a shallow tread pattern. This design is ideal for ironworkers or carpenters who may have to work up on scaffolding since it provides maximum surface contact, and the absence of a heel virtually eliminates the risk of getting caught up on a beam while shifting your footing. These are also great for factory workers who have to stand on hard concrete floors all day since the flatness of the sole puts less strain on your lower back, as well as roofers and farmers as wedge soles track less of the outdoors in with you thanks to that shallow tread pattern.

Should conditions turn nasty on the jobsite, these work boots feature an X-Stream waterproof breathable membrane which locks water out while allowing your feet to breathe to keep you dry on all accounts. On top of that, an Ultimate Shock Absorption footbed cushions your every footfall for maximum comfort, while a lightweight fiberglass shank helps to reduce the added strain and fatigue of long hours spent on your feet.
