Thorogood GEN-flex2 8-inch Black Waterproof Polishable Toe Side-Zip Tactical Boot – 834-7991

Take a traditional lace to toe uniform / military boot, add a zipper for easy entry and make it much more flexible and you’ve got the Thorogood 8-inch GEN-flex2 Waterproof Side Zip Trooper.

This boot is constructed of heavy duty materials for durability. The thick, full grain leather upper will take a high shine in case you have to pass inspection. The 1000 denier nylon is extremely abrasion resistant yet it allows the boot to breathe. The Goodyear storm welt connects the upper to the sole in a way that is durable yet allows for flexibility. The long wearing outsole on the Thorogood 834-7991 Trooper uniform boot is made to put up with whatever you dish out. It’s also slip resistant and oil resistant.

Unlike ultra lightweight tactical boots, the Trooper balances your need for high mobility without sacrificing durability. One way it does this is with the GEN-Flex system. This is comprised of a dual density outsole which offers a layer of cushion on the inside along with more abrasion resistant outer layer for long wear. On top of that, Thorogood included a gel insert just below the heel to offer extra cushion and better rebound right where you need it most. The Goodyear welt means that like a traditional stitch down boot, this military style boot is securely connected to the outsole but unlike a stitch down style, this boot offers high flexibility allowing you to run, jump and crouch without experiencing foot pain. That flexibility along with the composite shank built into Thorogood’s 8-inch Trooper black uniform boot also gives law enforcement/police more stability in case they have to move fast while chasing down the bad guys.

On top of the comfort, this boot offers plenty of extra protective features. Thorogood built a waterproof breathable Thoro-dri membrane into the Trooper. Not only will this membrane keep your feet completely dry, it also has blood born pathogen protection to prevent blood borne pathogens from passing through your boot. This feature makes the Trooper not just a good police boot but also makes it ideal for use as an EMT boot. On the inside you’ll find a spacer mesh lining that consists of thousands of closely-spaced holes into its weave. This helps to keep your feet cool and dry when the temperature spikes. On top of that, the lace-to-toe design means that you can cinch the boot tight and make it conform to your feet. This will allow for a more comfortable more secure fit.

Many first responders have to move fast when duty calls. This means that they can’t take the time to properly lace up a tall pair of military boots such as the Thorogood Trooper. This is why Thorogood included a high quality, YKK side zipper on the inside of this boot. Just lace ’em up once and after that, it can take less than 2 seconds to get the boot on and off. This is a really useful feature to have in a boot made for police, security and paramedics.

The Thorogood 834-7991 Trooper boot is an excellent boot for a wide variety of uses. It’s a comfortable, durable and flexible update to the classic uniform boot. Buy yours online today.
